RAID: Shadow Legends Champion Rarity and Tiers Explained

Updated 15 September 2026·RAID: Shadow Legends

Short answer: rarity sets the ceiling on how strong a champion can become, but it is not the same as a tier ranking — a Legendary champion in the right role can outperform a mediocre Mythical, and that gap is exactly what makes account pricing more about the specific roster than the champion count alone.

Rarity: Common through Mythical

RAID has six rarities — Common, Uncommon, Rare, Epic, Legendary and Mythical — and each step up raises a champion’s stat ceiling and how many skill books it takes to max out. Mythical champions are the rarest and hardest to summon, which is why accounts that carry even one or two are priced well above rosters built entirely from Legendaries.

Rarity is not the same as usefulness. A well-built Epic support can be more valuable to a specific team than a Mythical champion that does not fit the content you are pushing — which is exactly why two accounts with the same rarity count can play, and sell, very differently.

Why tier lists disagree with each other

Every tier list ranks champions against a specific goal — Arena defense, Clan Boss without reflect damage, Hydra, Dungeons — and a champion that tops one list can sit in the middle of another. There is no single ranking that is correct for every mode.

When you are evaluating a built account, ask what content its strongest champions were clearly built for, not just how high they sit on a generic list.

Factions and why they matter beyond flavor

RAID groups its roster into 16 factions — Barbarians, Dark Elves, High Elves, Orcs, Undead Hordes and more — and faction wars, along with certain gear paths, reward having depth within a faction, not just strong champions scattered across all of them.

An account with a genuinely deep faction (several built champions from the same one) can clear faction-locked content that a same-size roster spread thin across sixteen factions cannot. This is one of the harder things to judge from a screenshot, which is why the full roster list matters more than a highlight reel of the best two or three champions.

How this actually affects price

Mythical count moves the price the most, Legendary depth second, and faction spread and ascension level of the top champions third, roughly in that order, though gear and resources on top of the roster shift things further.

The most reliable way to see this in practice is to compare real listings rather than estimate: the account-value calculator on this site checks unsold accounts for whichever champions you specify and shows what they are actually priced at right now.

Common questions

Is a Mythical champion always worth more than any Legendary?

Usually, but not always — a Mythical that is a poor fit for popular content can be worth less on the resale market than a Legendary that is a staple in Clan Boss or Arena teams. Rarity sets a ceiling; role and content fit decide how much of it matters.

Do I need champions from every faction?

No — faction wars and faction-locked gear reward depth in specific factions more than breadth across all sixteen. A roster built around three or four strong factions is usually more useful than one spread thin.

Where can I see which accounts have a specific champion?

Each champion has its own page on the RAID catalog listing every account that includes them, and the same applies to each faction — both are linked from the main RAID: Shadow Legends page.
