Buying a Genshin Impact Account: What AR Actually Means
Adventure Rank is the number every Genshin listing leads with, and it is the most misread figure in the hobby. It tells you what content is unlocked — not how strong the account is.
What AR unlocks
Adventure Rank gates world level, artifact quality and access to the harder domains. A low-AR account is not a weak account; it is an early one, with the endgame still ahead of it.
That is why AR cuts both ways. Players who want a clean start deliberately look for low AR — the world is not yet scaled up, and progression is still in front of them. Players who want to skip the grind look for high AR.
The figure that actually matters
Characters and their constellations. A five-star at C0 and the same character at C6 are different accounts at very different prices, and the listing should say which.
Weapons matter almost as much: a signature weapon can be worth more than the character it belongs to.
Server region cannot be changed
Europe, America, Asia and TW/HK/MO are separate worlds. You cannot move an account between them, and you cannot play with friends on another region.
Check the region before you pay. It is the one attribute of the account that no amount of support can fix afterwards.
Binding and ownership
Ask what the account is bound to. An unbound account, or one bound only to an inbox you receive, is what you want — the same rule as every other game.
If a listing mentions a phone number binding, take it seriously: phone bindings are far harder to remove than email ones, and in some regions they are effectively permanent.
Common questions
Can I change the server region after buying?
No. Regions are separate game worlds and characters cannot be transferred between them. Choose the region before you buy.
Is low AR bad?
Not at all — many buyers prefer it. Low AR means a lower world level and easier progression, with the strong characters already on the account.
