Raid Shadow Legends Frost Spiders Guide: What the Fight Really Is
When RSL players search for Frost Spiders, they almost always mean one encounter: the Frost Spider boss, Sorath. It is not a stand-alone dungeon with its own entrance on the map. Sorath is a Doom Tower boss in Rotation 1, and it appears on floors 40, 80 and 120 on both Normal and Hard. The same boss also turns up in Cursed City, so learning it pays off in more than one mode.
The whole fight revolves around three ideas: keeping HP Burn on the boss, dealing with the Spiderlings it summons, and not letting your champions get Frozen. Miss any one of them and a team that looks strong on paper will stall. This Raid Shadow Legends Frost Spiders guide walks through the mechanics step by step, the roles worth bringing, a few champions that fit, and the mistakes that waste the most attempts. Rewards depend on the floor you are climbing, so check the in-game reward screen instead of trusting a number from a guide.
Step 1: The Revive Trick (Purge By Flame)
The first thing most players notice is that Sorath does not stay dead. If you take it to 0 HP while it is not under HP Burn, it comes back with 50% HP, a full Turn Meter, every skill cooldown reset and two fresh Spiderlings next to it. That erases a lot of your progress and hands the boss an instant turn.
There are two clean answers. Keep HP Burn on Sorath at the moment of the killing blow, or bring an effect that blocks revives. Block Revive effects work, and so does Lydia's passive, which denies the revive. Most teams build around HP Burn because it helps in other ways too, as the next steps show.
Step 2: Its Three Active Skills
- Whiteout: Hits every enemy and applies Decrease ACC for 2 turns. This is why your debuffers can start missing right when you need them to land HP Burn.
- Katabatic Winds: Another team-wide hit with a twist. Frozen champions receive Block Buffs and 100% Heal Reduction, while champions who are not Frozen receive Decrease SPD and Decrease ATK. Staying unfrozen avoids the worst of it, but you still pay in speed and damage.
- Absolute Zero: Removes all buffs from your team, then applies Freeze for 1 turn with a 100% chance. If Sorath is under HP Burn, that chance drops to 50%. Every Freeze that lands also fills 20% of Sorath's Turn Meter, so one bad Absolute Zero snowballs into extra turns for the boss.
Notice the order inside Absolute Zero: buffs are stripped first, then the Freeze is applied. A Block Debuffs buff you cast beforehand is already gone when the Freeze arrives, so lean on high RES and on HP Burn (which halves the chance) for that particular skill. Block Debuffs and cleansing still matter for the rest of the boss's kit.
Step 3: The Passives That Shape Your Team
- Frozen Lymph: Any champion who attacks Sorath has a 20% chance to be Frozen for 1 turn. While HP Burn is not active, Sorath also gains extra DEF and RES, which makes every other part of the fight harder.
- Almighty Immunity: The boss ignores most crowd control, HP exchange, HP balancing and cooldown-increase effects, so do not plan on controlling Sorath itself.
- Almighty Strength: Attacks based on enemy MAX HP are capped at 10% of Sorath's MAX HP per hit, so those champions lose most of their appeal here.
- Almighty Persistence: Turn Meter reduction only works at half strength.
Put these together and HP Burn is the keystone of the encounter. It stops the revive, halves the Absolute Zero Freeze chance and removes the bonus DEF and RES from Frozen Lymph.
Step 4: Spiderlings Undo Your Debuffs
The Spiderlings are more than extra bodies. They can cleanse debuffs from Sorath, which means your HP Burn and Decrease DEF can vanish in the middle of the fight. Handle them quickly: kill them, stun or freeze them, or use AoE crowd control. Ignore them and a perfectly timed HP Burn can disappear one turn before the killing blow.

Buy RSL AccountsTeam Roles to Cover
No single lineup is required, so think in roles rather than names. Seven jobs come up again and again:
- HP Burn: The one role you should treat as non-negotiable. Ninja and Artak are both known for activating it.
- Block Debuffs and cleansing: Protects against Freeze, Decrease ACC, Decrease SPD, Decrease ATK, Block Buffs and Heal Reduction.
- Healing and revive: The boss hits your whole team, so you need sustain and a way to bring fallen allies back.
- ACC and RES support: Sorath can have high RES on the harder stages. Increase ACC helps your debuffers land, and Decrease ACC on the boss helps too.
- Spiderling control: AoE crowd control or fast damage to clear the adds before they cleanse you.
- Damage and debuffs: Decrease DEF and Weaken add real damage once HP Burn is secure.
- Block Revive: A backup plan for the final blow if HP Burn drops at the wrong moment.
Champions Worth Knowing
- Artak: Applies HP Burn to all enemies, activates the burns with his second skill and adds Decrease ATK, which is useful against a boss that hits this hard.
- Doompriest: A fast support whose passive removes a random debuff from each ally and heals the team every time she takes a turn.
- Pythion: His second skill revives the team and cleanses, and he follows up with Block Debuffs. High RES helps him avoid Freeze, and his passive reduces incoming damage based on the buffs on your allies.
- Lydia: Brings Decrease DEF, Weaken, Increase SPD and Strengthen, and her passive denies the boss its revive.
Building the Team Around the Roles
A sensible shape is one HP Burn champion, one cleanser or Block Debuffs support, one healer or reviver, and two slots for damage, debuffs and Spiderling control. The names matter less than coverage: if every role is filled and your ACC and RES are healthy, you have a real shot. Work in a simple order. Control or kill the Spiderlings, get HP Burn up and keep it up, then add Decrease DEF and Weaken for damage. The Decrease DEF and Weaken tools you already run in Hydra and Clan Boss teams often carry over, so our Hydra and Clan Boss teams guide is a good place to check what your roster already covers.
Common Frost Spiders Mistakes
- Landing the killing blow without HP Burn: The boss revives at 50% HP with a full Turn Meter and fresh adds. Check the burn is active before you commit.
- Letting champions get Frozen: Each Freeze feeds the boss Turn Meter and triggers Block Buffs and Heal Reduction through Katabatic Winds.
- Ignoring the Spiderlings: They cleanse the boss, so your HP Burn and Decrease DEF keep falling off.
- Bringing low-ACC debuffers: Whiteout lowers your ACC and the boss can carry high RES on harder stages, so debuffs miss at the worst time.
- Building around the wrong tools: Crowd control on the boss, MAX HP damage and Turn Meter reduction are all blunted by its passives.
- Trusting a pre-cast Block Debuffs: Absolute Zero strips buffs before the Freeze lands, so that buff will not save you from this skill.
Frost Spiders FAQ
Is Frost Spiders a dungeon in RSL?
There is no separate Frost Spiders dungeon entry. It is a Doom Tower boss, Sorath, found on floors 40, 80 and 120 in Rotation 1 on both Normal and Hard, and it also appears in Cursed City.
Why does the boss keep coming back after I kill it?
That is its Purge By Flame revive. Unless it is under HP Burn or hit by a Block Revive effect, it returns with 50% HP, a full Turn Meter, reset cooldowns and two Spiderlings.
Which stats matter most for this fight?
ACC and RES come first. ACC helps your debuffers land HP Burn through the boss's RES and through Whiteout's Decrease ACC, while high RES helps your champions resist Freeze. Enough SPD to act before the boss turns also helps your cleansers and healers do their job.
What if I do not own the right champions?
The roles matter more than any single name, but gaps in HP Burn, cleansing or revive support can block progress on the deeper floors.
