Buying a League of Legends Account: Rank, Skins and the Real Risk

Riot is stricter about account transfers than most publishers, and it enforces more actively than the gacha titles elsewhere in this catalogue. Anyone telling you a League purchase carries no risk is telling you what you want to hear.

That does not mean accounts are routinely lost — it means the risk is real rather than theoretical, and it belongs in the decision. If that is not acceptable to you, this is the game to skip.

A League account is a Riot account, which is an email and password. If you do not receive the email inbox and cannot change its password, you have not been given the account — you have been given access to it.

This is also the single thing that most reduces the practical risk: an account nobody else can recover is one nobody else takes back.

Rare and retired skins first, then champion coverage, then rank. Limited skins from old events cannot be obtained today, which is why they carry a listing.

Rank is the least durable part. It changes with how you play and it resets each season, so paying a large premium for it buys something with a short shelf life.
